Taking Time to Reflect
When you take a moment to pause and reflect, you sometimes find yourself spinning. While this wasn’t an intentional play on words, it does make me giggle. On the 1st day of 2025, many families around the world will celebrate the last night of a 2024 holiday and light the 8th candle on the Hanukkah menorah, bask in the glow of these beautiful lights, and play the four-sided spinning top game, known as dreidel.
However, the spinning I’m referring to isn’t tied to the dreidel game. A year ago, our household was navigating a scary medical issue filled with uncertainty, Start Here was still finding its footing, and our car was causing us more headaches than help.
Today, I’m overjoyed to share that EVERYONE under my roof is in great health, we’ve said goodbye to the Subaru and hello to a Honda CR-V, and—because of you, my wonderful community, Start Here has grown beyond my wildest hopes!
In 2024, Start Here tripled its productivity (I set out to double what I achieved in 2023), I applied for (and got into) a Master Class on Photo Management, which begins this month, and I’ve been invited to be a regular speaker at the Santa Cruz Public Library! All presentations are at the Scotts Valley Public Library, from 12:30 to 1:30. Registration in recommended.

As I sit here reflecting during this quiet time between Christmas and New Year’s—when the world seems to take a collective deep breath—I’m filled with gratitude. While 2024 brought its share of challenges, it also offered countless moments of celebration and growth. For my clients, for myself, and for this incredible community, it’s been a year of milestones and learning opportunities.
